Happy 2024 International Women’s Day!

Here we share African American Women in Jazz history, consolidating dancers’ old clips and life stories, exhibiting portrait artworks of them from today’s women dancers. We are group of womxn dancers excited to learn, get inspired, share about them. We acknowledge that the dances and music we research and share here come from African American and Black culture. We often do so with little lived experience of this culture. We seek to continuously educate ourselves about the historical, political and social context from which jazz music and dances grew.
